Grab a piece of paper & a pen - we've got a lot to share with you today!
Today's episode is for the business owner with the growing company! We are so, so excited for this one. As you might know, we just hired two new folks to join the team, and after many failed attempts to retain staff and some intensive coaching, we're doing things a little bit differently. Join us as we chat about where we went wrong in the past & how we're proactively setting ourselves (& our new hires!) up for success. Today, we're going to chat about how our screening process is more thorough, the ways we've changed up our interviewing process, and also how our onboarding & training strategies will improve.
A few takeaways:
- The first thing we had to do is go for more qualified candidates. How did we do that? We improved the job. We made our cleaning technician position more desireable than ever with more freedom and, of course, a lot more pay.
- Once we had an influx of applications, we carefully went through them & called *almost* everyone - because we like to give everyone a chance to impress us!
- Once we had them on the phone, we asked our deal-breaker questions. If they did not meet the job requirements, we didn't waste their time nor our time scheduling an in-person interview.
- If we do schedule an interview & they show (we had more success with people showing up due to our thorough phone screenings), we asked a multitude of both ice-breaker questions & work-related questions. The key is to get to know them both as a person & as a potential employee!
- Our training protocols will be much different this time around - be sure to listen to the episode to learn more about what we'll be doing!
